Education

Education is one of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.’s three national programs, and it lives out our founders’ belief that scholarship is a lifelong commitment — not just a requirement for membership.

A National Program

What Education Focuses On

At the national level, Phi Beta Sigma's Education program spans scholarships, literacy, STEM exposure, test preparation, and advocacy. Here's how the chapter thinks about that work locally.

Scholarships

Scholarship is one of the three founding principles of Phi Beta Sigma. Nationally, that means helping young men pursue and pay for higher education — a principle we intend to carry out here in Collin County.

Literacy & STEM

Phi Beta Sigma's national Education program invests in literacy and STEM exposure for young people. Our own Sigma Beta Club STEM Day is a local example of that work in action.

Test Prep & College Readiness

From standardized test preparation to guidance on the college application process, Education initiatives aim to equip students with what they need to reach the next level.

Our chapter-specific Education initiatives are still being built out beyond Sigma Beta Club's STEM Day. Details on scholarships, literacy efforts, and other local programming will be posted here as they take shape.

In the meantime, our Sigma Beta Club program already carries out education-focused programming like STEM Day workshops for our youth mentees — you can read more on the Sigma Beta Club page.
